Problem Note 57147: Using Bulk Load with SAS/ACCESS® Interface to Greenplum uses excessive memory
Enabling bulk loading with SAS/ACCESS Interface to Greenplum might result in excessive memory usage as compared with previous versions of SAS® software. Here are some examples:
Using SAS® 9.4 M2 for 750,000 Objects
memory 2164.09k
OS Memory 7576.00k
Using SAS® 9.4 M3 for 750,000 Objects
memory 1559877.37k
OS Memory 1787296.00k
The only workaround is to not use bulk loading but instead use INSERTBUFF in the LIBNAME statement. However, performance will not be the same.
Bulk loading works properly when there is sufficient memory.
